Article Submission GuidelinesSelecting a TopicCIRE readers are interested in how-to, trend, and forecast articles on a variety of topics, including commercial real estate brokerage, investment, leasing, development, financing, property management, and technology. Submit a detailed outline on a topic for consideration prior to submitting a manuscript. To discuss topics with the editor, call (312) 321-4460. Preparing the ManuscriptSubmit articles in Microsoft Word format attached to an e-mail. Articles should be 1,800 to 2,500 words in length. When appropriate, include case studies, sidebars, or resource boxes to enhance the article. Supply a brief professional biography, including present title, designations, place of employment, published articles, and expertise in the subject about which you are writing. VisualsInclude charts, graphs, original color photos or high-resolution (300 dpi) digital images, and illustrations when possible to emphasize and clarify points in your article. StyleAll manuscripts will be edited to meet CIRE 's space requirements and general style. CIRE adheres to the Associated Press Stylebook , 2001 edition. Any promotional material will be removed from articles prior to publication. The Review ProcessAll articles are reviewed by CIRE 's editorial review board, composed of commercial investment real estate professionals. The board determines whether an article is appropriate for publication. If your manuscript is approved "with revisions," it may be returned with recommendations for more information or clarification. CopyrightCIRE seeks original, unpublished material, and owns the copyright for all of its contents. Please inform the editor if your manuscript currently is being considered or is scheduled for publication elsewhere. In addition, all authors must sign a publication agreement prior to being published in CIRE.
